DR RUTH HEWSTON BA, MA, PhD, FRSA

Dr Hewston has been in CEDAR since 2007, having moved from the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY) also at the University of Warwick.
Her background is in performing arts and music, having previously lectured in Dance Science and Dance Education. Her educational research interests are in music psychology and education, gifted and talented, and education in the broader performing arts.
Ruth serves on the editorial boards for the International Journal of Music Education and the British Journal of Music Education. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
Aside from her academic interests, Ruth is also a qualified Kindermusik Educator licensed to teacher the Kindermusik music and movement curricula to parents and their children from birth to seven years.
