Nik joined CEDAR in December 2019 as a Research Assistant on the Teaching early reading skills to adults with intellectual disabilities (READ-IT) using a support worker/family carer mediated on-line reading programme project. This aims to test the feasibility of a reading program for teaching adults with learning disabilities reading skills. He completed his undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire.
Throughout the past decade, he has worked in various roles supporting people with learning disabilities. He completed an MSc in Applied Psychology of Intellectual Disabilities through the University of Portsmouth and in 2017 began a part time PhD at the University of Wolverhampton. His PhD focuses on creating better understanding of people with learning disabilities’ political engagement, voting behaviour and societal and carer support for this.
