Meet Cheryl Cane, Director of Student Experience and Recruitment

cheryl_cane_education_studies.jpgHello, I'm Cheryl Cane and I am the Director of Student Experience and Recruitment for post graduate taught courses at the Centre for Education Studies. I am delighted to congratulate you on your offer to study at the University of Warwick and I am looking forward to welcoming many of you to your new courses in September. My background is in secondary education (former Drama and English teacher), school leadership (qualified NPQH 2004), teacher education (former course leader for the English and Drama PGCE) and currently a Senior Teaching Fellow at CES (teaching on the MA Drama and Theatre Education course). I am also a University of Warwick graduate myself and can thoroughly recommend becoming part of the Warwick family.

My student experience role involves welcoming you to Warwick with a series of activities but it also involves liaising with you throughout your studies to ensure that your experience at Warwick is excellent. I will be organising cross-course events, socials and also academic opportunities throughout the year so I would love to hear from anyone from our new student community who would be interested in getting involved with some student-led activities during the first few weeks of term. We have lots of exciting events planned for you but we are also really keen to shape your experience in response to your views and opinions. Visitors to CES comment on the warmth of the welcome and the feeling of community and family. That sense of community begins now as we get to know our new students and encourage you to make contact with us. I am so happy that many of you will choose Warwick for your post graduate experience and I look forward to meeting you in person very soon.
