Aim and Scope of the Conference
The conference was organised as part of the AHRC/ESRC Religion & Society Programme, of which Prof. Linda Woodhead is the Director. The conference brought together research teams which had been awarded grants within the youth call of the Progamme as well as other related projects. The focus of the conference was on young people and presentations included topics related to religious education in schools and religious nurture or socialisation within families, communities or peer groups.

Conference Organisation
The Warwick Religions and Education Research Unit (WRERU) at the University of Warwick was one of the award holders (Young People’s Attitudes to Religious Diversity), under the directorship by Prof. Robert Jackson. The conference was organised by Dr Elisabeth Arweck, with support from members of the WRERU project team.
Conference Participants
Apart from members of various research teams, the conference participants included educationalists, academics, researchers, representatives of interfaith organisations, RE teachers and advisers, media representatives, and policy makers.
Venue and Timings
The conference was held at the Scarman conference centre on the Warwick University campus. It began at lunch time on Monday 25 July and finished towards tea time (c. 4 pm) on Tuesday 26 July.
Jazz at the conference
The Zoltan Sagi-Bob Jackson quintet (a photo of the band - 5 members of Spicy Jazz) played jazz for the delegates at the conference after dinner on Monday evening
