Interrogating the experience of Quaker scholars in Hindu and Sikh studies: spiritual journeying and academic engagement

This qualitative study examined the relationship between the personal, spiritual journey and the professional, academic journey of a group of UK-based scholars of Sikhism and Hinduism who are associated with Meetings of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). Professor Nesbitt's research follows on from her earlier study of 'Quaker ethnographers'.

She presented her findings in the George Richardson Lecture 2009 at Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre (1046 Bristol Road, Birmingham B29 6LJ) at 5 pm on Saturday 3 October and an article is expected to appear in Quaker Studies.
