Religion and Mental Health

The Religion and Mental Health project has coordinated a series of empirical studies across faith traditions and across nations. The project focuses on young people between the ages of 11 and 21 years.

Recent studies within the research tradition have been published in Journal of Happiness Studies and Research in the Social Scientific Study of Religion. Recent studies within the Hindu tradition are shortly to be published in Mental Health Religion and Culture. Two studies in the Islamic tradition are shortly to be published by Muslim Education Quarterly and the Journal of Muslim Mental Health.

Recent studies in the Christian tradition include samples in Germany (in Pastoral Psychology and Archiv fur Religionspsychologie), Hong Kong (in Journal of Psychology in Chinese Societie), South Africa (in Religion and Theology), England (in Personality and Individual Differences and Journal of Research in Christian Education), Norway (in Tidsskrift for Norsk Psykologforening), Wales (in The Psychologist in Wales).
