One of the goals of the SF-DDARIN is to facilitate high quality implementation research in which there is collaboration between academic and practice communities. As part of this we have established a programme of Masters studentships to enable field/practice based research projects that might not otherwise happen because of a lack of funding.

We are delighted to announce that 4 Studentships (Academic and Field supervisors are shown in brackets) have been awarded this year:

• Emily Wormald will be conducting a joint project between Bangor University (Carl Hughes) and Calthorpe school (Corinna Grindle):

Teaching Handwriting Skills to Children with Learning Disability.

• Alexandra Herman will be conducting a joint project between Bangor University (Carl Hughes) and ABA Tutorship (Corinna Grindle):

Effects of Behavioural Skills Training on the application of the “7 Steps of Instruction”

• Sian Thomas and a fourth student will be conducting joint projects between the University of Warwick (Vaso Totsika) and Calthorpe school (Corinna Grindle):

Teaching Early Reading Skills to Non Vocal Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities using an Online Reading Program 

Teaching Handwriting skills to Children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
