Des Hewitt - Head of Primary Teacher Education at The University of Warwick, releases a new book with Nicola Crossley

Perhaps, from the style of my writing, you might think that I have embarked on something new and this is an account of my wide-eyed discoveries. That is not the case. I’ve been teaching for twenty-five years. The landscape through which I have travelled in my working life has been populated by young people who have no idea how good they really are or what a massive contribution they could make to the world. Or how much we need them to do just that.

This year, the Centre for Teacher Education (CTE) celebrates 75 years of training teachers. The milestone symbolises the passion, ambition and commitment of the department to train generations of new teachers, helping them become the teachers they want to be with the expertise and support of staff in CTE behind them, from the day they begin their training to entering their teaching career and beyond!
