Coaching

Coaching occurs through a series of conversations in which one person uses the ability to listen, to ask questions and to play back/confirm what they have heard to create a relationship of rapport and trust. This enables the person receiving coaching to clarify what matters to them and to work out what to do to achieve their aspirations.

CTE

The Centre for Teacher Education (CTE) exists to provide high quality Initial Teacher Education (ITE) and Professional Development for teachers.

ITT

ITT stands for Initial Teacher Training. It is also known as ITE which stands for Initial Teacher Education. The two terms are often used interchangeably.

Mentoring

Mentoring occurs through a series of conversations in which one person draws on their experience, expertise and knowledge to advise and guide a less experienced person in order to enhance their performance or support their development. In some instances, mentoring will also be a requirement of probation or as part of an accredited course.
