About the event

Between them Dean Garratt (University of Warwick), John Sloman (The Economics Network) and Jon Guest (Coventry University) author Economics, Economics for Business, Essentials of Economics and Essential Economics for Business.

These texts are extensively used by students of A level Economics as well as by first year university students of Economics and those studying Economics as parts of a non-specialist degree.

Following the financial crisis and the subsequent economic downturn, economics has rarely been out of the news. Each author will be delivering an inspirational TED style talk (maximum 18 minutes each) exploring why now is such a great time to be studying economics.

As well as reflecting on the crisis and topical economic issues, these talks will highlight some of the more interesting applications of economics and the benefits to students from studying economics.

Followed by Q&A and the chance to have your text book signed if you bring it along.
