The WFE is a global association established in 1961 for exchanges and clearing houses. It represents over 200 market infrastructure providers, including standalone CCPs that are not part of exchange groups. The market capitalisation of entities listed on WFE member exchanges is over $67.9 trillion, and around $84.18 trillion (EOB) in trading annually passes through the infrastructures our members safeguard. WFE exchanges are home to nearly 45,000 listed companies.
Dr Stefano Alderighi is a Senior Research Economist at the WFE. His research has been mainly focused on two topics: retail participation and small business finance. With Siobhan Cleary (Head of Research at the WFE) he has recently co-authored a survey-based report on SMEs and access to equity finance. Stefano and Siobhan Cleary also collaborated with consultancy company, Oliver Wyman on a research report on how to enhance liquidity in emerging markets.
Siobhan joined the WFE as Head of Research and Public Policy in November 2015. She coordinates the work within sustainability, emerging markets and SMEs and also drives research in these areas. Prior to this, Siobhan was Director of Strategy and Public Policy at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. ..
