Antonio Garcia Pascual

Antonio Garcia Pascual, Chief Economist and Managing Director at Barclays (Europe) will be presenting a 360 Lecture on Tuesday 22nd November. This lecture has been organised in collaboration with the Warwick Economics Summit. 

antAntonio's career at Barclays began in 2010, when he was appointed Chief Southern European Economist. In 2013, he progressed on to assume the role of Chief Euro-Area Economist before becoming Chief Economist for Europe where he heads European macroeconomic research and advises senior risk managers.

Prior to joining Barclays, Pascual spent eight years as the IMF's Senior Monetary and Capital Markets Economist as well as his post as Senior Advisor in Macro-Financial Analysis and Banking within the Central Bank of the Russian Federation. Further to this, his articles and work have been extensively published in academic journals such as Oxford Economic Papers, the Review of International Economics and the Journal of International Money and Finance.

Pascual obtained his bachelors degree in Quantitative Economics at the Compultense University in Madrid. By the age of 29 he had also obtained his PhD in Econometrics at the University of California.
