The Guardian ranks Warwick Economics in the UK's top 10

Warwick Economics ranked 7th in the Guardian 2019 University Guide.

The Guardian published its University league table this week ranking the Department of Economics as 7th position, moving up from our position in 2018. The Department continues to maintain its presence amongst the top 10 Economic departments in the UK and has consistently ranked highly in this league table for the past three years.

This follows on from our earlier success in The Complete University Guide 2019 league table, where we were ranked 3rd position, and in the Good University Guide 2018 that placed us as 4th out of 76 UK Economic departments.

Commenting on the news, the Head of Department, Professor Jeremy Smith, said: -

As a Department we work hard to give our students the best possible teaching and learning environment in which to develop as an economist and I am pleased to see this work is reflected in our league table rankings. The strength of the Department is a reflection of both the outstanding student body and the commitment of colleagues delivering research-led teaching to all of our students. To be ranked 3rd in the CUG, 4th in the The Times/Sunday Times's CUG and having improved our ranking in the Guardian is a reflection of our standing as a leading Economics Department.

The University of Warwick was ranked 8th in the UK for 2019, maintaining its position from 2018. Further details can be found in the University's press release here.
