Socialise

Within the Department of Economics, we organise events to reward and recognise your hard work. We organise a whole host of social events and activities for you to get involved with that allow you to socialise with classmates, academics and staff from within the Department in a more social environment.

Induction Activities

During Welcome Week, the Department organises a fantastic programme of activities, designed to help you settle in, get to know your fellow students and staff within the Department.

Just some of these activities include an orientation game, an international economics game and also a welcome reception and address.

Social Events

We think it’s important to provide you with
opportunities to relax and get to know both your peers and tutors outside the classroom.

Recent socials have included a quiz night for our first and second year students, Undergraduate Mentor Scheme awards, a welcome reception for new students and a traditional British afternoon tea for our finalists.

Graduation

At the end of your studies, you deserve a great send off and we hold our own graduation ceremonies that allow you to celebrate with family, friends, classmates and academics.

As well as the graduation ceremony itself, we also organise an evening drinks reception that allows you to celebrate your hard work and successes. This also includes a short presentation of awards to a number of students for outstanding work and achievement.

Top societies to allow you to engage, enjoy and get involved.

The great thing about your university experience is that it’s yours to create. With more than 300 sports clubs and societies here at Warwick there’s something to suit everyone. The two most popular Economics-related societies are the Warwick Economics Society and Warwick Economics Summit. As well as becoming a member you can also apply to join their executive committees in roles such as President, Fresher Rep, Treasurer, Talks Coordinator or Social Secretary, giving you something extra to put on your CV.
