Are you a year 1 or 2 undergraduate keen to get some research-focused skills for coding Python? The CAGE Research Centre is offering a free one-day crash course to take you through everything you need to know to set-up Python and work on real 'research-level' datasets.

Coding for Economic Research will be led by CAGE Centre Director Mirko Draca who will deliver insights on organising a professional coding workflow and analysing datasets. The course aims to give you the additional knowledge to support dissertations and provide some of the skills needed when looking at future research assistant opportunities.

You will need to bring a laptop with either Python installed or that is able to access the Google Colab coding interfaceLink opens in a new window (you will need a Google account to do this).

Lunch will be provided.

  • Applicants must be available to attend for the full duration of the event.
  • Applicants must bring their own laptop preferably with Python installed OR the ability to use Google Colab (which will run Python in the cloud).
