The ‘forced experimentation’ with remote work since March 2020, brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic, has led to predictions that the UK labour market will feature much higher levels of remote work from now on. As COVID restrictions in the UK are slowly lifted, the key questions are: how much remote work will remain and what will the consequences be for different types of workers? In this briefing, we provide some insights into the future of remote work in the UK based on recent data.
