Head of Administration (Teaching and Learning)

I am responsible for managing the comprehensive range of teaching and learning services in support of the Department's strategic objectives to provide an outstanding teaching, learning and student experience throughout the student lifecycle. I provide leadership of the professional services staff involved in teaching and learning.


Main responsibilities

I work with the Director of Studies to take a lead role in the development and delivery of the Department's teaching and learning strategy, including preparations for the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), the Institutional Teaching and Learning Review (ITLR). With the Director of Studies, I lead on the planning and delivery of student survey campaigns (such as the National Student Survey (NSS), Postgraduate Taught Student Experience Survey (PTES) and the Postgraduate Research Student Experience Survey (PRES)), and formulate, manage and liaise on action plans arising from the surveys.

I lead and manage the delivery of high quality teaching and learning support services across all stages of the student lifecycle. I am a member of the Senior Management Team, and secretary to the Department's Teaching and Learning Committee, leading the development and embedding of policies, procedures and processes initiated by the Committee.
