New skills for new jobs

The aim of the study is a critical review of existing theories and practices in the area of identification and anticipation of future skills needs in the labour market. The study, led by GHK Consulting, feeds into the European Union’s ‘New Skills for New Jobs’ initiative, an objective of which is to contribute to the regular assessment of labour market needs of the EU to 2020. For this purpose, the study will help the Commission to identify best (theoretical and practical) approaches to anticipation of skills needs at the EU level, and thus support the Commission’s Communication and Staff Working Document in this area.
IER will act in an advisory capacity across the various tasks to be completed for the study, and will participate on the expert panel, verifying emerging results and commenting on the key questions posed in the project specification.
