Many congratulations to the graduating class of 2020. Many years ago I was in a similar position to you: just completing my LLB at Warwick. The Law School, and the University as a whole, was much smaller in those days. But when I came back at the start of last year it was still basically the same, but updated. I was so pleased to be able to lead the School that helped shape my outlook on life as well as giving me a great university education.
I hope you had as good an experience as I had – despite all the disruption this year and the Covid-19 crisis that has changed so much of the way we live. You all did really well to cope. Special mention must go to Victoria Hall, who has been awarded the prize for the best overall performance in the Law School this year. Her marks were tremendous, so she completely deserves the prize, but you all deserve to be proud of what you’ve achieved in difficult circumstances.
Please don’t forget us. I can assure you that we won’t forget you.

To all those graduating this year, my personal tutees, those I have taught and those who I have had the pleasure of dealing with over the last few years - it is has been fantastic that you have succeeded in completing your degree in such extreme circumstances. I am so impressed by your ability to adapt and cope with the difficulties you've had to face. I wish you the very best whatever you're planning to do in the future.

To the class of 2020, Congratulations, the journey was long and rocky, but we made it, we graduated! A greater journey lies ahead. We all have endless paths to take which can lead us to our goals. I urge you to take risks and move out of your comfort zone. 'There is no passion to be found playing small- in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living' (Nelson Mandela) We will all face difficulties, rejections and more. This is inevitable, but how we react to them is up to us. Don't give up, the world is yours for the taking. I would like to thank all the teaching and non-teaching staffs for the crucial role they played; my many friends- some of whom became family, and God for making this possible. I wish everyone the best in their future endeavours.

Congratulations to our graduating class 2020. Although I have not had the pleasure of teaching most of you during your time at Warwick, I have had the privilege of interacting with many of you through other activities and being your personal tutor. I am so proud of all of you and what you have achieved, especially during the challenges that this year has thrown at us. My very best wishes to all of you in all your future endeavours and I hope you stay in touch with us. Let us know how you are getting on, come back to visit us and know that we are always excited to hear of your news wherever you may be in the world.

Very many congratulations to all of you! All the hard work, most recently under rather unusual circumstances, has paid off and you've made it!
Of course, from now on, not turning up for 9 am appointment on a Monday (Commercial Law) or Wednesday (Contract Law) morning will no longer be an option ;-). I hope that, in the years to come, you will make the most of the skills and knowledge you acquired during your studies.
Every good wish for the future - and please do stay in touch!

“This is not where our story ends. This is only where it changes.” I spent my first week at Warwick getting lost on campus, realizing that I knew very little about my course, and meeting friends that would become best friends over the years. Three years later and I’m heartbroken that our year is ending this way, but I will always cherish my time at the Law School. I’ve loved the modules I’ve taken and the new perspectives they brought me, I’ve loved every Thursday coffee morning, and I’ve loved seeing campus change over time. Our Class of 2020 has been through a lot during our degree, but I know that we’ll be able to tackle whatever comes our way next!

To the class of 2020, I thank you for the beautiful journey that we embarked on together. I thank you for the enjoyable seminars, for bearing with my frequent (and annoying) questions in the front row of most lectures, and I thank you for the sense of family that I felt. The future holds nothing but promise for each and every single one of us – let us remain steadfast, resilient and, above all, optimistic.

A huge congratulations to all of you who are graduating today! I’ve had the pleasure of meeting a lot of you individually during my time at Warwick Law School and I can tell you have amazing futures ahead of you! Thank you so much to each and every one of you who has helped me with one of my many marketing requests - without your help a lot of my work would not have been the same.
Please do keep in touch with me and the Law School. You can connect with Warwick Law School on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. Here’s my LinkedIn if you’d like to keep in touch with me :D

It saddens me greatly that I shan't be able to see you graduating in all your be-gowned finery! Teaching you was a great pleasure, and getting to know you an even greater one. I'll always remember the fun we had together in the course of your degree studies. Good luck with everything you do in the future, wherever you may be. Please keep in touch...I want to know how you're getting on.
Finally, here's the blessing I gave you at the end of the last Tort lecture in your first term at Warwick, all those years ago:
“The wind sits in the shoulder of your sail,
And you are stayed for. There – my blessing with thee …
This above all – to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.
Farewell – my blessing season this in thee”. (Hamlet, Act 1, Scene 3)
With my best wishes, gratitude, and affection.
Keep eating bananas,
Paul

Congratulations everyone! Every year I feel like a proud parent watching our students graduate (although I like to convince myself that I am not old enough for that to be the case). I had the pleasure of meeting some of you during your first year and some in later years when you were kind enough to help us out with our marketing activities. Thank you so much for entertaining us, stealing our sweets ;-), helping at sometimes very short notice and sharing knowledge and experience that is invaluable to our new students. It has been an absolute pleasure and we will miss you very much. Unless you stay to do an LLM then we get you for another year - yay!
I feel very sad that I won't get to wish you all well in person so I guess online will have to do for now. Good luck to all of you for the future. Be proud. You just got a degree, that isn't easy, especially a Law degree. I look forward to hearing how you are all doing - please do keep in touch, we like to know what you are up to :-D

I have to say that I was so impressed with this year’s LoBO cohort. Your essays were a joy to mark, containing so much originality and academic endeavour, and you all did very well in your exams. You’ve really set the standard going forward.
This year was also my first year as Exams Secretary, and I’d like to extend my thanks to all of you for picking up the new AEP system and the notion of online exams and making them work. Your cooperation and flexibility has been invaluable.
Congratulations on your degree, and I wish you the best of luck for the future.

Dear Graduate,
Thank you for all the energy you brought to classes. You inspired with your questions (ambush?) , your determination, your actions, your kindness and your fundamental honesty. I will miss your company greatly - your waves, your smiles, your big laughs and yes , your trust when things just got too much. This is such a new world to all of us, but the qualities you showed here provide us all with hope in the future.
Wishing you all the very best for, and in all things.
All best wishes, Winnie Chan
