NatWest and the University of Warwick have collaborated to welcome students interested in climate change, to put your thoughts about tackling climate change and sustainability to the test. Inner Temple Insight Event: BirminghamMalmaison BirminghamThe panel session kicks off the event with practising barristers and judges discussing their journeys to the Bar. There is an opportunity to ask questions after the panel session. To conclude the evening there will be a reception with panel members local to the area. During the evening there will also be a scholarships presentation. Free to attend but booking is required. |

CANCELLED: How Aspiring Solicitors can help you!An informative and interactive session for first-year students on how Aspiring Solicitors (AS) can help you kickstart your career in law. The primary aim of the organisation is to increase diversity in the legal profession. In 2020, 50% of 24 partner law firm trainees were AS members! During the session we will explain who we are, more about what we do, and why we do what we do! We will also discuss how you can register to be an AS member and what this means for you. Questions are welcome. Unfortunately we have had to cancel this event due to low numbers. |

How to get a training contract – different routes to becoming a solicitorThis session will explore the different routes to qualification and provide the opportunity to hear about the career journeys of those qualifying via the traditional and other routes. The event will be delivered by colleagues from the Birmingham Trainee Solicitor Society and include a panel of speakers illustrating the different pathways into a legal career including traditional route (GDL and/or LPC after university followed by training with a law firm), alternative career path – paralegal and other careers prior to commencing a training contract with a law firm. |
