Dr Joy Malala awarded Warwick’s Research Development Fund Strategic Award
Congratulations to Dr Joy Malala, Assistant Professor at Warwick Law School who has been awarded Warwick's Research Development Fund (RDF) Strategic Award to support her project titled, ‘Between Life and Debt: Minding the Dignity Gap in the UK Consumer Credit Market’.
Dr Maryna Utkina participates in Summer School on the Law of the Council of Europe
Dr Maryna Utkina, Associate Tutor at Warwick Law School and British Academy Fellow received one of 10 scholarships to participate in the Liverpool Summer School on the Law of the Council of Europe.
WLS's Cherisse Francis makes passionate appeal on behalf of Commonwealth youth
This year was designated by the Commonwealth Heads of Government as the Year of Youth and last month and WLS's Cherisse Francis was invited by the Commonwealth Association (an organisation made up of former staff of the Commonwealth Secretariat) to deliver the 3rd Annual Patsy Robertson Memorial Lecture at Marlborough House.
WLS student represents Team GB 7s in Leg 2 of Rugby Europe 2023.
Ollie Monye, who is currently studying on our 3-year LLB degree, represented Team GB 7s in Hamburg, Germany for Leg 2 of Rugby Europe 2023. They placed 4th in the competition playing against Belgium, Lithuania, France, Germany and Ireland.
Law Graduate wins OSCA
We are delighted to announce that one of our recent graduates has been awarded The University’s Outstanding Student Contribution Award (OSCA) for 2023.
Former Law Student Bience Gawanas is awarded Honorary Degree at 2023 Graduation Ceremony
The University of Warwick recently announced new honorary graduates as part of the summer 2023 graduation ceremonies. At today’s ceremony (Friday 21st July) former Law student Bience Gawanas will be awarded one of these honorary degrees in recognition of her outstanding contributions and achievements.
WLS Alumna gets HBO TV deal for adaptation of her debut novel
Yomi Adegoke, who studied on our 3 year LLB degree and graduated in 2014 will have her debut novel ‘Slay In Your Lane’ adapted into new TV programme ‘The List’ with HBO Max, BBC and A24 as partners. Yomi is a British journalist who writes about the intersection of race, feminism and popular culture.

Dr Serena Natile awarded prestigious ISRF Fellowship
Dr Serena Natile, Associate Professor at Warwick Law School, has been awarded the Independent Social Research Foundation (ISRF) Early Career Fellowship for her project ‘Transnational Social Security Law in the Digital Age: Towards a Grassroots Politics of Redistribution’.
Dr Tor Krever joins FOBZU delegation to Palestine
The Law School’s Dr Tor Krever was recently selected for a Fellowship of the inaugural Palestine Academic Links Seminar (PALS) organised by the Friends of Birzeit University (FOBZU). The Fellowship involved a week-long study tour in Palestine in late June with a delegation of 11 academics from British Universities, led by academic coordinator Akram Salhab.
Alumna writes captivating article for Lacuna Magazine
Wajma Zazai, who studied on our Law 3 Year LLB, and graduated in 2022, has written our latest Lacuna article titled: 'The Screen: Watching Afghanistan suffer from afar.' Wajma was awarded the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Scholarship from the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple to support her Bar Vocational Studies at City, University of London.
