We were delighted to welcome participants to campus last week for a topical summer school on digital health apps and regulation, organised by the There Is No App For This! project team.

Dr Maryna Utkina, Associate Tutor at Warwick Law School and British Academy Fellow received one of 10 scholarships to participate in the Liverpool Summer School on the Law of the Council of Europe.

Dr. Aisel Omarova, BA Fellow at the University of Warwick, was invited as a panellist to the scientific symposium of the ALLEA “Crises and the Importance of Research: How Prepared Can We Be?” last month, hosted by UK member academies, the British Academy, the Learned Society of Wales, the Royal Society, and the Royal Society of Edinburgh.

Dr. Maryna Utkina, BA Fellow at the University of Warwick Law School, became a part of the Ukrainian cohort and participated in a two-day British Academy-supported workshop titled “Development of academic skills in Great Britain and the international context”, which took place on the 24 and 25 May in Wigan.

Dr. Aisel Omarova, BA Fellow at the University of Warwick, was invited as a delegate to the conference "Ukraine’s Recovery: Rebuilding with Research", which took place earlier this week on the 15 May 2023 in London.

On 23 and 24 January 2023, the project team of the AHRC/DfG-funded research project “From Smart Technologies to Smart Consumer Laws” held a working meeting at the University of Warwick. The project focuses on a range of consumer challenges created by the Internet of Things (IoT), which is characterised by a complex integration of physical and digital products and services, e.g., in the context of smart homes, connected vehicles or consumer wearables.

On 21 and 22 April 2022, Warwick will host a two-day conference for a group of leading European consumer law scholars to discuss the transformation of consumer law and policy in Europe since the turn of the millennium.

From 19 - 21 May 2022 the 11th conference in the series The Future of Adversarial and Inquisitorial System, a collaboration between the Universities of Warwick, North Carolina, Bologna, Basel and Duke University will be hosted at Scarman House, University of Warwick.

From 2-3 September, Warwick’s Research in Global Governance Network (RiGG-NET) is hosting an international interdisciplinary virtual two-day event called Disruption, Decarbonisation and Reparations.

Warwick Law School in partnership with HelpAge International (Africa region) and the University of Nairobi, School of Law held a two day workshop on Gender and ageing in African contexts: policy, legal and institutional development in Nairobi, Kenya from 4 – 5 June 2019.

The IEL Collective will be hosting its first Inaugural Conference from 6-7 November 2019 at the University of Warwick and is calling for papers.
