RBS Double: Two recruits from the Warwick LLM

Two of our current LLM students have secured positions with the Royal Bank of Scotland, in their money laundering division. Nabeelah Begum and Robi Rai are both studying on our International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation degree. We caught up with them both, to find out more about their new roles and how the LLM has helped them to prepare.

Climbing the ladder: Warwick Alumnus makes Partner

Former Warwick LLM student, Varun Lamba has been promoted to Partner at his Law firm in India. Following completion of his LLM in International Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation here at Warwick in 2009, Varun went on to join AZB & Partners as an Associate. He was later promoted to Senior Associate in 2015 and is now a Partner.

Warwick academic links up with LLM Alumna at UN Conference

Warwick Law School’s Markus Wagner and LLM Alumna Hyoeun Yang both participated at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development High-Level International Investment Agreement, which took place from the 9-11 October 2017 at the Geneva Office of the United Nations.

The conference brought together delegations from dozens of countries, non-governmental organizations and subject matter experts. It took stock of sustainable development-oriented international investment agreement (IIA) reform and shared experiences of the countries that are undergoing such changes. Furthermore, it identified best practices for phase 2 of IIA reform, including substantive, procedural and institutional improvements.
