The Faculty of Social Sciences has been awarded an ESRC Midlands Graduate School Doctoral Training Partnership (DTP) that will provide training and funding for postgraduate students from October 2017.
Led by Warwick and made up of partners at the universities of Birmingham, Nottingham, Aston, Leicester and Loughborough, the DTP will offer postdoctoral studentships and support for social science researchers in the early stages of their career, with the first intake of students in October next year.
Students will receive training focused on skills such as: working in interdisciplinary teams, communicating research ideas and findings clearly, and being able to undertake high-quality analytical work.
Professor Chris Hughes, Chair of the Faculty of Social Sciences, said:
"The DTP will prove to be a further tremendous driver of collaboration and interdisciplinary research within Social Sciences and cross-Faculty at Warwick, and with our partners across the entire Midlands region."
