Internships, as well as other types of work and voluntary experience, are a great way to enhance your practical work skills, gain knowledge about how your sector functions at the professional level, and increase your employability. PAIS recognises the increasing importance of gaining practical experience as well as earning a degree, so we are working to help you identify opportunities to undertake internships during or after your time in the department. The onus is on you to arrange your own internship, while our aim is to give you an increasingly useful starting point.

The PAIS Internships page details internship and work placement opportunities set up specifically for PAIS students with selected partners in the UK and abroad.

The PAIS list of internship possibilities is a general list of organisations that may offer placements; this list is a work in progress, and we will continue adding more opportunities and student reports on completed internships as they come in. If you have done an internship or work placement, please share the details with us through the Internship Survey so that we can include them in the listing.

You can also search for current internship opportunities and advice through myAdvantage and the Student Careers & Skills Work Experience Zone. While the PAIS listing will primarily include subject-relevant opportunities, the Careers & Skills listings will provide a wide range of opportunities and ideas for you to explore.

For second year undergraduates there is also the opportunity to apply for a placement at the University in the summer vacation on the Warwick Undergraduate Internship Programme. Succesful candidates are offered paid 6-week full-time summer internships within administrative and academic departments at Warwick that begin in early July.

The vacancy sections of graduate recruitment websites also carry adverts for internships (you just need to set the filters differently). The main ones are:
