A Career in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office: Reflections and AdviceOC0.03Dr Jenny Medcalf is a Research Analyst at the FCO, providing expert advice on the formulation of policy; providing research and analysis to policymakers; and is responsible for bringing outside expertise to the FCO. As the current Head of the Defence and International Security Research Group, Dr Medcalf’s portfolio includes NATO, deterrence, and space security. Visiting campus and giving a one-off talk, Dr Medcalf will reflect on how she came to enter the civil service, talk in more detail about her specific role, and talk more generally about careers in the FCO and government. The talk will end with a Q&A session for students interested in pursuing a career in the FCO/civil service.
