The East Asia Study Group (EASG) is a forum for discussion for PAIS academic staff and doctoral researchers on a range of issues related to East Asia. The objective of this group is to stay abreast of the latest political, social and economic developments in East Asia and allow its participants to form and share their views among peers working on the region. The meetings, since their inception in October 2007, have operated primarily on events-based discussions, though occasionally interesting journal articles or commentaries have been tabled as well. Held bi-weekly, the rotating chairperson chooses a few topics and reading materials suggested by group members and circulates readings to the group before each meeting. To sign up to the EASG or for any other queries, please contact Federica de Pantz, coordinator for the study group.
Please see the EASG events section for more information about our meetings.
We also organise bigger events; please check the EASG Events page regularly for upcoming events during the academic year 2016-2017 as well as previous events and podcasts. You can also subscribe to the mailing list to be notified about news and events.
