The Centre for Studies in Democratisation is organising a weekly publication seminar. The idea is to create a space where we can discuss research related to the theme of democracy/ democratisation in a friendly but critical environment. Discussion will predominantly centre on the following:
- Article manuscripts that are (almost) "ready“ to be sent to a journal. We serve as a “pilot review” and address questions such as “what do you still might want to work on?” and “what would be the appropriate journal to submit your work to?”
- Papers under review. We discuss how to react to the reviewers’ comments.
- Book manuscripts. We deal with questions related to the publication strategy and also review the book proposal.
The discussions are focused on the above questions (no lengthy presentation, just some introductory comments).
PhD students are explicitly invited to join the discussions as they can only learn from it! In addition, they are warmly invited to present their “nearly-finalized” work. That is, the seminar is open to members from doctoral students to professors (irrespective of whether they present a paper themselves).
The seminars take place every Tuesday from 5:30 to 6:30 in S1.50 (Social Sciences building, first floor).
