Dr Steffen Böhm is Lecturer in Management at the Essex Management Centre, University of Essex, UK, and Associate Member of the Collective for Alternative Organisation Studies (CAOS) based at the University of Leicester, UK. Steffen’s work focuses on critical perspectives of corporate globalisation and the study of social movements that have resisted international management and business practices. He has developed a keen theoretical and practical interest in the Social Forum movement, which has challenged hegemonic forms of globalisation in various ways. Steffen has co-organised various Radical Theory Forum events in recent years, in order to foster debates between academics and activists engaged in resistance movements. He is currently involved in an ESRC funded programme researching the organisation of alternative media. He is co-founder of the open access journal ephemera: theory & politics in organization (www.ephemeraweb.org) and co-founder of the independent publishing press mayflybooks (www.mayflybooks.org).
