Stephen Broadberry is Professor of Economic History at the University of Warwick, and has also taught at the Universities of Oxford, Cardiff and British Columbia. He has also held visiting positions at the University of California, Berkeley and Humboldt University, Berlin. He has published widely on unemployment and macroeconomic policy in Britain, Germany and the international economy during the twentieth century; sectoral aspects of the comparative growth and productivity performance of Britain, the United States and Germany during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries; and the economics of the two world wars. Current research interests also include the Great Divergence of productivity and living standards between Europe and Asia. He has been a managing editor of the European Review of Economic History and served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Economic History, Explorations in Economic History, Journal of Industrial History, Structural Change and Economic Dynamics. He has also been a trustee of the European Historical Economics Society and the Cliometric Society.
