Bartholomew Paudyn

Dr. Bartholomew Paudyn is a Visiting Fellow in the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation (CSGR) and a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Political Science at the University of Victoria where he is working with Dr. Amy Verdun. His main areas of interest include government through risk and uncertainty in the context of the European political economy where he has recent and forthcoming publications in journals such as the Review of International Studies. Bridging the international political economy on Economic and Monetary Union (EMU) with that of critical social theory, his research focuses how discursive practices of risk and uncertainty contribute to the creation of a regulatory capacity and the EMU space. Currently, he is involved in a project that problematises the role of credit rating agencies in the European sovereign debt crisis and how authoritative knowledge is constituted and deployed in the politics of creditworthiness.
