Dr. Hiromi Kabashima is a visiting fellow in the Centre for the Study of Globalisation and Regionalisation (CSGR) and an associate professor of Politics in the International Graduate School of Social Sciences, Yokohama National University (YNU), Japan. She recently received the 2009-2011Young Researcher Award from the Japan Society for Promotion of Science and the 2011 YNU Research Abroad Award. Her research inquires into regional governance in the Asia-Pacific. She is currently investigating the relevance between the region’s ability to construct multilateral institutions for cooperation and bilateral confrontations.
