In November 2017 members of IERG travelled to New York and Philadelphia to undertake dissemination activities for SIIP (Speaker Identification Integrated Project). In Philadelphia on November 16th Dr John Guelke, Professor Tom Sorell and Dr Jethro Butler presented papers at The American Society of Criminology Annual Meeting: Dr Guelke presented on the ethics of speaker identification technology; Professor Sorell talked about the ethics of bulk collection; and Dr Butler presented on the topic of entrapment. The next day the team presented material related to our work on SIIP to about 80 serving officers of the New York Police Department at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
