Justice, Rights and Equality (UK International Challenges)

This project aims to contribute to the research theme Justice, Rights, and Equality through an interdisciplinary approach that combines methods within normative political philosophy and applied ethics with qualitative and participatory empirical research within indigenous communities.

The project fulfills the objectives of the research theme by bringing into focus the unjustness of the current distribution of burdens caused by climate change and the underrepresentation of indigenous voices within current climate change adaptation policies. In particular, the project aims to show how integrating indigenous values and knowledge within climate adaptation strategies can address such injustices and contribute to more responsive and robust climate adaptation policies.
