The module will offer critical engagement with Aristotle's Physics at an advanced level. Students will be expected to engage critically with the main arguments of the text, articulate their own views of the relative strengths and weaknesses of these arguments, engage with the relevant secondary literature, show sensitivity to interpretive issues and appreciate the aims of the text given the historical context in which it was written. Students will develop advanced knowledge and understanding of Aristotle's Physics. They will be able to read, interpret and critically engage with arguments in Aristotle's text and with the views of commentators.
