Our Politics, Philosophy and Law (PPL) degree enables you to develop an in-depth understanding of the technical and doctrinal aspects of the law, and a critical awareness of the role law can play in politics, how political theory and philosophical thought interact with and translate to policy and the Law.

We believe that the three disciplines are interconnected and our BA in PPL takes an interdisciplinary approach, which you can discover through your first-year core, optional modules and the opportunity to complete an interdisciplinary dissertation project as final-year research.
You will gain valuable insights into the impact of economic, cultural and political change on law, and consider how law and policy affect life beyond the courtroom and parliament. Our graduates will have the opportunity to emerge with sought-after legal, research, writing and independent learning skills, an ability to engage actively with policy and philosophical debates about the world’s most pressing problems.
