"I chose to study at the University of Warwick because of the amazing opportunities available at this university, as well as the the reputation for its teaching within the Sociology department. I chose to study Sociology after I studied it at college because I fell in love with the subject. I found the ability to look into the structures and subcultures within society and understand why we live the way we do, compelling. In addition, I was captured by the variety of modules available for study at Warwick University and I can’t wait for my next three years studying here."
- Mel Fletcher, BA Sociology
"One of my favourites modules last year was International Perspectives on Gender (IPG). I particularly enjoyed working on my assessed essay on gender and race in South Africa post-apartheid. It allowed me to delve into a topic which interested me whilst gaining research skills at degree level. I also like the seminar on Fairtrade goods where we were encouraged to eat Fairtrade chocolate and cookies for the entire seminar!"
