Exporting Favourites from Internet Explorer


You want to export your Internet Explorer favourites. This might be because you want to copy them to another computer or because you want to back them up in case your computer crashes.


  • Open Internet Explorer. Click: File > Import and Export…

  • Choose Next at the welcome screen and then select ‘Export Favorites’ on the following screen

  • Select the folder containing the favourites you wish to export. Select the top-level folder if you wish to export all your favourites (as below). Click Next.

  • Select where you wish the favourites to be copied to. You can click the browse button if you wish to save it to a different place. Click Next.

  • Click Finish to complete the save. A web page is now created in the location selected above listing all your favourites. This page can be used to import your favourites back into Internet Explorer either at a later date or onto a different machine.
