The WBS Healthcare club is excited to announce the 2022 Healthcare Innovation Challenge in partnership with Philips Healthcare.
The 2-day event will be jam-packed with guest speakers, challenges, and the opportunity to network with like-minded students and industry professionals.
Today, the Healthcare industry emits 4.5% of the national carbon footprint and with that contributes significantly to global climate change, which, in return, may have negative impact on population health.
Healthcare providers increasingly recognize this interdependence, and leaders are stepping up to transform and de-carbonize the industry in line with the Quadruple Aim of care – better outcomes at lower cost (including cost to the environment, society and future generations), with better staff and patient experience. But while many health care institutions committed to sustainability across the globe (e.g., NHS: Net 0 in 2040, 20 countries joined Raze to Zero etc.), their core focus is care delivery and they lack the ability to measure and manage their carbon footprint.
Philips is driving the development of a practical and scalable approach with metrics, tools, and capabilities to support the transformation towards sustainable healthcare. The ambition is to help hospitals to reduce and optimize resources across care pathways & patient journeys without compromising care.
In an open innovation style challenge, teams will be asked to advise Philips on how to successfully launch this service in the market.
Further information narrowing the scope further will be made available to successful teams at a later date.
