Research Topic
Examining the interaction between professional expectations and professional practice and its impacts on the identity work of junior professionals in transition.
My research aims to examine the identity work of aspiring physicians just after the completion of their final exams and in their initial encounter with clinical practice. By investigating the perceived expectations of students before entry into professional practice and at the point of transition, I intend to reveal how they navigate the tensions, uncertainty and ambiguity they face in their journey towards becoming a professional.
