The programme for the past 2013 Edition is available here.
How to apply for the 2014 Summer Edition (1-5 September)
The Summer School is based on the idea of creating a learning community among all participants. For this reason we will strive to achieve a good balance between advanced students, post docs, junior academics and seasoned scholars.
Participation is strictly limited to 35 places. We expect significant interest in the School, so we encourage prospective participants to sign up as early as possible.
Applicants will be selected based on the demonstrable alignment of their research topic with the theme of the school and the expected benefits from attending the event. The programme will include a PhD/early research clinic during which participants will be offered the possibility to present and discuss their research in groups of 3-4 people facilitated by the faculty.
To apply, please send an abstract of no more than 800 words by 9 May 2014 to firstname.lastname@example.org
The abstract should include three sections: topic and progress of current research/career, reasons for attending the event, what you hope to gain from attending (and contributing to) the Summer School.
Applicants will be notified of acceptance by 23 May 2014. Please do not make any travel arrangements or pay the registration fee until your application has been confirmed as accepted.
The Summer School will take place in one of the high quality conference facilities at the University of Warwick enabling us to offer a subsidised, inclusive and highly competitive fee. This is because we discovered that exotic and very charming destinations can be logistically difficult and get in the way of building a community of learners throughout the duration of the event. By running the Summer School on campus, lodging in the same venue and having all the daytime meals together we can expand the opportunities to continue conversations beyond and across sessions.
The all-inclusive, subsidised fee for the 2014 edition is £700 (€840). This includes 5 nights 4-star bed and breakfast accommodation, all lunches and refreshment breaks and (one) welcome dinner.
