BLOG: Deputy Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Europe), George Christou joins EUTOPIA Week

This week is one of my favourites in the year. It's a chance to bring together academics, students, researchers and stakeholders from across Europe and beyond for our bi-annual EUTOPIA Week. Hosted by EUTOPIA partner CY Cergy Paris University, the theme for this EUTOPIA week is innovation and collaboration – providing a platform to showcase the achievements of the alliance and to set the stage for future initiatives.
We’ve heard students from across the EUTOPIA alliance share their experiences of balancing entrepreneurship alongside their university studies, emerging research leaders who are building interdisciplinary networks as part of the EUTOPIA Young Leaders Academy, and educators who are developing exciting and innovative educational formats in our Connected Learning Communities. Throughout the week I’ve been inspired by the dynamic blend of regional and international perspectives which embody the spirit of inclusivity, diversity and excellence that defines the Alliance’s mission.
I’m particularly encouraged by our discussions on responsible internationalisation and research security, and a new series of sessions that bring together leading experts in topical areas – in this case Cultural Heritage - to forge new collaborations and develop new research projects.
EUTOPIA Week is more than just an event; it is a testament to the power of collaboration and shared purpose. We can’t wait to host the next EUTOPIA week in 2025, Warwick’s 60th anniversary year, and celebrate the shared vision of a united and innovative European and Global community.
