The area of Greater Birmingham and Solihull includes the core area of Birmingham and Solihull, as well as Southern Staffordshire and Northern Worcestershire. It has a population of nearly two million, with the economy worth £40 billion with more than a million jobs.
The Greater Birmingham and Solihull area contains many of the economic drivers of the West Midlands region, including Birmingham Airport and the city of Birmingham, the largest UK city outside of London.
