Summary: The University of Warwick’s annual Chinese Academic Forum

The University of Warwick’s annual Chinese Academic Forum returns on Saturday 4 February 2012. The goal of the forum is to facilitate understanding and acceptance between East and West and to provide a variety of opportunities to consider different perspectives on contemporary Chinese issues.

THE CHINA FORUM stands to promote mutual cultural understanding between the East and the West with a number of Chinese experts from different sectors of society invited to speak on contemporary Chinese issues. This year's event boasts high calibre contributions from eight prominent speakers including Martin Jacques (Author of “When China Rules the World” and columnist for several broadsheets), Linda Yueh (Economics Correspondent for Bloomberg Television) and Kerry Brown (Former FCO First Secretary of Beijing).

THE CHINA FORUM hopes to leave guests with an increased understanding and respect of the divergent views on Chinese affairs as well as a rewarding and intellectually stimulating experience. As a result of the success of last year’s event, ‘The China Review’ publication has been established, which contains contributions from professionals and students based both in the UK and China. Owing to the generosity of sponsors this year the event can offer free entry to everyone and a complimentary copy of 'The China Review' to all China in Focus members.
