Computational Study of the Structures, Stabilities and Segregation of Bimetallic Nanoalloys

Thursday 14th February 2008, 16:15-17:15, Physics Lecture Theatre

Professor Roy L. Johnston (Birmingham University) will lead this talk introducing the field of nanoalloys and reasons for studying them.

The model (the Gupta many-body potential) and the methodologies (genetic algorithms and systemic optimization studies of geometric shell clusters) Professor Johnston has used to study the structures and segregation properties of nanoalloys, as well as DFT calculations on a series of nanoalloys will also be presented.

Attendance is free of charge - Refreshments provided
