Summary: Session on cultural differences, aimed at helping students to integrate in a host culture.

Please note: this session has unfortunately had to be cancelled and will no longer take place.

This training session, organised by the International Office, will encourage participants to explore assumptions about other cultures and their own, in order to raise awareness of cultural differences and sensitivity towards people from other cultures.

The principal aim is to promote more effective interaction and provide students with the correct tools to enable them to settle in and integrate in a host culture. Key stages of cultural adjustment will be identified and there will be an opportunity to discuss the possible effects of culture shock.

The session will be interactive and there will be an opportunity to pose questions to a panel of students about their own experiences of being an international student in the UK.
