Summary: Training initiative on targeted cancer therapies
Targeted therapies are one of the most important new developments in cancer therapy and increasingly they are being employed to treat a variety of tumour types. It is important therefore that nurses have a good understanding of these novel drugs. TARGET is an exciting training initiative for nurses caring for cancer patients, pharmacists and technicians that will give them greater understanding of the science behind the therapies and specific understanding of their administration, efficacy and toxicities.

Completing the TARGET course will provide participants with the knowledge they need to deliver optimal care to patients receiving targeted therapies and provide support to them and their carers.

Participants should be interested nurses or AHCP's, pharmacists or pharmacy technicians with some experience of caring for patients receiving targeted therapies.

The course is free to members of the Oncology Nursing Society, UKONS, or £50 for non-members (to include membership of UKONS for nurses).
