Lecture capture system pilot

IT Services are going to run a pilot of a new lecture capture system this October.

The system, which we'll build into the 14 largest lecture theatres on campus, can capture audio, video and presentation slides all at once. It will also make it possible to easily run live streams of lectures that people can watch from the web. If the pilot is successful, we’re looking to roll the technology out across campus throughout 2014.

If you're a lecturer and you choose to use the system, it can help your students to:

  • Concentrate on the meaning of lectures rather than on note-taking, knowing that they can listen again.
  • Review lectures again at revision time or as part of preparing assignments.
  • Catch-up if they were unable to attend due to illness.

We'll post more information here once the initial pilot is complete.
