The University Newcomers’ and Visitors’ Group provides an informal meeting place for wives, husbands, partners and children of academic and research staff (including visiting academics) and international postgraduate students.
Whether you are visiting or settling into life at Warwick, take the chance to drop by to meet people, forge links between departments, foster friendships across the wider University community, practise your English and learn more about things to do in the local area.
The Group meets for coffee on Thursday mornings during term time, 10am – 11am here on campus in Warwick Arts Centre on the 1st floor (up the stairs to the left of the Mead Gallery - look for the signs for Butterworth Hall, Door 2).
I felt terribly homesick when I arrived here but meeting people like me through the Group, helped me a lot in overcoming this."
In the Group I meet very nice and interesting people, an easy way for people from many countries to meet and simply have a good time. It’s good for my English…And I learned where the most beautiful footpaths are and where you get good bread in Leamington."
The Group meets:
- every Thursday from 25 April to 27 June 2013
- every Thursday from 3 October to 12 December 2013
Please feel free to come along to any of the sessions.
