All staff and students are invited to join the Remembrance day and Armistice day commemorations on campus:

Remembrance Sunday – 8 November

A short service will start on the Piazza at 10:50 in time for the link on the Big Screen to the service at the Cenotaph and will include the 2 minutes silence at 11:00. A warm welcome is extended to all.

Armistice Day – Wednesday 11 November
On Wednesday 11 November 2015 a short service of remembrance will be held on Benefactors Place outside Costa near the Piazza, to mark the Armistice signed at this moment in 1918, marking the end of the First World War: the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. We will gather at 10:45, start at 10:50 and end by 11:10. This is an opportunity for all of us to remember all those who have lost their lives or been affected by war, not just in the two world wars, but in wars in every part of the globe. The service will encompass the traditional two minute silence at 11am and the last post.

All are welcome to come and share in these acts of remembrance which will be led by the University Chaplains. Many University members will not be able to be present but may wish to observe the two-minute silence at 11:00 where they are.
